Since the beginning of this semester, I've been chatting with a friend in my Government class who I had always felt was gay. He's a really sweet guy and really attractive, so in the best interests of friends, I thought I'd strike up a friendship. Outright, I found out that he's "straight" but is very curious. I really did not want things to dissolve into a purely sexual friendship so I focused on his issues and concerns. He's very religious and holds God in high regard to his life (which is good) but I have been trying to help him understand a lot of the misconceptions regarding homosexuality in the bible put forth by the common stereotype. It is going to take some work, but I think I can help him set aside his fear or at least consider not denying his feelings (that he will admit to me).
